this weekend was a hoot. i had a dinner party at my house and the nicest people showed up. ...my friends.
it was supposed to be a little italian dinner over wheat pasta, but by morning, because i forget that i''m 26 years old, it looked like a full blown balls out Sparks kegger.

At any rate, what did I learn? That I''m known to be a molester, hitting people awake is not charming, and that I will NEVER own a cat of my own volition.

Oliver from A Place To Bury Strangers came and told us a little about his pedal building business called Death By Audio. As, until now, I have been terrified to play with pedals, my A.D.D ass ignored the conversation, but it made quite an impression on my Oliver as we spent today at Main Drag playing with a pedal called TOTAL SONIC ANNIHILATION. Yes, I understand all you pedal heads out there may already know all about this( and as a matter of fact, if you don''t you are not the pedal head you think you are) but this changed my life. Iwill be purchasing one immediately. Since I bought my pretty new Fender and Amy bough that Beringer bass head with the fucking beautiful Ultrabass option, I been thing about ways to get louder and a smidge more melodic.
I''ve also wanted to see how long it will take people torealize that the noise is much too loud and they should be leaving, buuuut maybe they won''t.
Olivers pedals lack one thing. The option to not blow up your amp with them. They are not polite pedals. They are silkscreened cutely, but they can tear your face off. Oliver is to pedals what you hope that punk rock hairdresser should be to your nasty do. He''ll install rude features into your pedals, he''s not there to be polite. His pedals are the mohawk you always wanted.

His wonderful girlfriend, Karen, also attended my party, and she is wonderful. Really wonderful. You should all meet her, and you probably already have.

So,our friends Goldstreets are in the studio this weekend with Ellis. Ellis runs Loiter studios in Williamsburg. Ellis is our guitar player. They are a beautiful mix of The Cure, Saturday Looks Good To Me, and Asobi Seksu. Their song "Red" is a surefire listen. I have listened to it twice, seen them twice,been drunk all of those times and stil, still somehow know all the words. Thats catchy shit.


Oh, we are in a band called The Art Of Shooting. We are playing Wednesday night (4/13) with another wall of noise band called Autodrone. It is a Vicious party set up by Audrey over at meoldynelson.com and one of our last shows before the CD release party at Piano''s on Jubne 12th! Come see us!
